    Chenango County Historical Society presents the "Sicilian Crossings and Derived Communities" Exhibit

    Now through May 22nd

    St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church Parish Hall, 81 East Main St, Norwich

    This exhibit, funded by the Department of Work and Emigration of the Sicilian Region & sponsored by the CCHS, consists of 120 panels documenting the emigration of Sicilians to the United States. Images of Norwich, NYC's Little Italy and the New Orleans Sicilian community are featured alonside the Sicilian locations to which they trace their roots.

    ATV racing returns to Unadilla.  The excitement builds as the dirt flies, ATV’s soar, and the crowd gets into every minute of it.  All racing will be on the Pro National tracks as racers from all over the U.S. are expected to try their luck again on the famed track.  A new feature added to this weekend will be the SHOWCASE EVENT.  Unadilla is one of the five rounds chosen to be a SHOWCASE event.  This will allow fans to take demo rides as well as experience an Outdoor Expo with special displays and vendors.

    Greene’s Annual Labor Day Picnic

    September 1st

    Ball Flats, Greene

    Come and enjoy the family fun of the Greene Labor Days.  Hose competition begins at 8:00 am, parade at 10:00 am, and then off to the ball fields for rides, food, exhibition shows and fireworks at 9pm. Admission and parking is free. (Free shuttle bus from parking area on South Canal Street) Cost for rides, food, etc.

    14th Annual Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival

    September 6th (10:00 am – 6:00 pm) and  7th (11:00 am – 5:00 pm)

    East and West Parks, Downtown Norwich

    Two days of art, music, food and fun.  A juried exhibition of over 70 artists in an interactive atmosphere featuring artist demonstrations, educational activities and original music. Admission is FREE.

    GNCC Motorcross

    September 27th and 28th

    Unadilla Valley Sports Center, 5986 State Route 8, New Berlin

    This is the final event of the racing season.  The GNCC is unique in that racers must not only be able to race on our motocross tracks but also in the woods that surround the facility.  One lap will encompass about 15 miles of terrain.

    22nd Annual Applefest

    Barefoot Truth

    Barefoot Truth puts on an energetic show full of good vibes. Mixing rootsy acoustic sounds with meaningful storytelling lyrics, the band pulls their audiences begging for more. Their heartfelt, melodic songs are performed with a wide array of instruments including upright bass, lap steel guitar, congas, didgeridoo and lead harmonica.

    Jose Conde & Ola Fresca

    Singer-songwriter Jose Conde is formulating a new kind of Afro-Cubano music. He and his band, Ola Fresca, combine guajira and guaracha with New Orleans funk, Nigerian Afrobeat, South American cumbia, Brazilian afoxe, boogaloo and even a little James Brown.

    Crimes of the Heart  at Chenango River Theatre

    October 10th thru November 2nd

    CRT’s second season ends with this comic masterpiece by Beth Henely, which was the first play ever to win a Pulitzer Prize before opening on Broadway. This multiple award winning comedy is laced with homespun humor which takes shots at the heart of Southern traditions, as it offers an illuminating, poignant look at family relationships.

    10th Annual Pumpkin Festival

    October 24th (6:00 pm --9:00 pm) and 25th (9:00 am -- 9:00 pm)

    This is a family oriented event with plenty of entertainment, crafts, various food vendors and the annual YMCA Halloween parade.  Bring as many pumpkins as you dare along with a 3” votive candle for each and help break the Guinness World Book of Records.
