    The Chenango Landscape

All of the major nineteenth century architectural styles are represented throughout the county. Housing ranges from gracious nineteenth century homes and tree-lined streets, to quaint farmhouses in the country. Special care has been taken to integrate old and new and to retain much of the landscape’s natural features in new home construction.

Apartment complexes and town houses exist predominately in the Norwich area. Other rental options are available throughout the county including apartments in older homes, modern garden apartments and single-family homes in town and rural areas.

    Property Tax

Property taxes do vary from town to town, but the average total property tax in the county is approximately $37 per thousand of assessed value.
